Festival of Trees
The Johnson County Welcome Center will kick off the Christmas Season beginning on Monday, December 2, 2024.

Straight out of the North Pole (via Pennsylvania) Santa Claus will visit the Welcome Center from 4:00AM to 7:00PM with treats for all the kids.
Viewing and Voting for the Festival of Trees begins. Approximately 40 decorated trees and a Special Train are located throughout the Johnson County Welcome Center and Museum.One vote each day through December 20
or purchase votes 6/$5.
Christmas on Main Open House will be held on Saturday, December 7, from 10:00AM until 4:00PM. Beautifully decorated Christmas tree to be given away on December 21. Prizes for Favorite trees are $100. $75. $50. $25. Winners will be announced on Dec 21.

Cookie Walk with Santa
Children are welcome to drop by to whisper their Christmas wishes in Santa's ear during the annual Cookie Walk! A variety of cookies are being lovingly baked by the Johnson County Culinary Arts and local volunteers.

The cost is only $5 for a Cookie Bag and choice of beverage: hot chocolate, hot cider, hot wassail, Gnome punch or water. Additional food and beverage is available for purchase through Local's Deli. (Each cookie bag holds about 6 cookies.) Kids can also enjoy temporary face tattoos and a Santa Treasure chest!​​ There is NO admission charge for children to visit with Santa. Parents are encouraged to take photos.
Proceeds benefit the Johnson County Historical Society.

Come early and spend the day with us! Start your day with a visit to the Welcome Center to vote for your favorite Christmas tree, shop at our downtown merchants and grab a bite before you head to the Cookie Walk for a sweet treat and a visit with Santa!

The Christmas Village with food and craft vendors will open from 4:00-8:00pm at the Courthouse lawn where you will find more bites and delights! Get your cup of cocoa and treats to claim your spot before the parade begins!

There is nothing like a parade to usher in the Christmas season. The theme for 2024 is Tennessee Christmas - celebrating the beauty and joy of the holidays here in Appalachia. Adults and children alike will delight in this year's parade that will feature the head elf himself, Santa Clause!

The route will proceed down Main Street, so grab a hot cocoa and a warm blanket and enjoy the show. After the parade, join us for the annual Christmas Tree Lighting and live entertainment featuring the Stateline Stompers!

Join us at the Christmas Village for the lighting of our Christmas tree! Live Christmas music will be provided by Randy Dandurand and the evening will feature enterainment by our local clogging team, the Stateline Stompers!
